Aswin’s path towards social impact is deeply rooted in the values instilled by his parents, Manikandan and Lakshmi. Witnessing their selfless acts of providing food, clothing, and essentials to those in need ignited a fire within Aswin to make a difference in society. Supported by his younger sister Asmitha, his family became a cornerstone for positive change in their community. His journey commenced at Lourde Matha Convent Higher Secondary School, where he not only excelled academically but also learned firsthand the importance of compassion from his parents. As Aswin aptly puts it, “To change society, the change must start from ourselves.”
Guided by the belief that change begins at home, Aswin, alongside a dedicated circle of friends, initiated social activities in Udumalpet. Together with Suba Priyan, Dhanissh, Venu Prasath, and Raja Athiyaman, they extended a helping hand to the homeless, offering support and facilitating job opportunities to help them rebuild their lives. They also undertook initiatives to assist orphanages and schools, providing essential supplies and sports equipment to enhance the quality of education.
Transitioning to college life at Anna University only deepened Aswin’s commitment to social causes. Alongside a compassionate group of friends, he spearheaded impactful projects, raising funds through crowdfunding and donations to address issues ranging from food scarcity to environmental conservation. Joining the Rotaract Club of ACTECH provided a platform to collaborate with like-minded individuals, fostering a collective spirit for positive change. Through the Rotaract Club, Aswin and his associates engaged in diverse projects, including food donations, providing education to underprivileged children, feeding drives for stray animals, tree plantations, and uplifting visits to old age homes and orphanages. Notable initiatives, such as “ConCerT’23 – Symposium for a Cause,” showcased their dedication to making a lasting impact on society.
Aswin acknowledges the invaluable support and contributions of Vyshnavi, Abinaya, Deepak, Kumaraghan, Vignesh, and many others who share his vision for upliftment.
